"You cannot love what you do not know, nor defend what you do not love."

Leonardo da Vinci

At Kopernikus we are convinced that the natural environment and our experience and interaction with nature are essential to create awareness in a world that evolves, changes and adapts. We also know how transformative it is to connect learning with outdoor experiences.

Learning in and from nature has tremendous benefits: it awakens all the senses, enhances learning by doing, reduces stress levels and promotes self-regulation. Learning in and from nature makes us aware that we are part of something bigger than ourselves and that we share the responsibility of caring for what is the heritage of all humanity. Learning in and from nature gives us the opportunity to become better learners and, above all, better people.

That is why as a College we have emphasized two lines of action in this area:

Outdoor Learning Subject

Since 2021 and with the efforts of all of us, we have managed to install a different practice in a privileged space, where desks, chairs and school supplies are replaced by forests, orchards and field diaries and with the cold, rain or heat as an inseparable part. Of action. This subject is a permanent part of our curriculum with 3 hours per week in the 1st and 2nd Cycle schedule.

"In the end, we will keep only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught or know."

Baba Dioum
